Geo Issa Conteh
Profile Summary
With more than 8 years of consultancy experience in Geotechnical Engineering, Issa Conteh has developed competencies in geotechnical investigations, site supervision, and materials testing. His career includes participation in internationally sponsored projects where he was instrumental in engineering evaluations, foundation level assessment, and soil subsurface profiling. His area of specialization in geotechnical testing involves assessing shear box, triaxial, consolidation and uniaxial compressions strength testing which are crucial in determining soil stability and restraining in structures within varying construction environments.
As a Project Engineer in ENVIRONMENTAL & GEOSPATIAL CONSULTING SERVICES, Issa onsite supervises complex soil investigation projects, including over drilling, laboratory work, and site visits. He prepares geotechnical reports, method statements, and work plans which involves compliance with the engineering standards and project specifications. He performs dynamic light probing tests, soil classification, and mapping using AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS. His position requires great scrutiny to geological features and soil movement such that he offers valuable advice for the infrastructure development.
Conteh brings a strong technical skill set, and his ability to interpret and incorporate geotechnical assessments has positively impacted not only his work but ultimately the overall success of significant civil engineering works to be delivered which included water supply infrastructure, bridges, and commercial developments. His experience in material testing and site supervision highlights his experience as an engineering geologist in providing practical and scientifically objective solutions.
Issa graduated with a Bachelor of Science with honors in geology from Fourah Bay College of the University of Sierra Leone in 2016. His focus was on aspects of Engineering geology, hydrogeology, and environmental applications in college, which helped him gain skills that are core to conducting geotechnical investigations and doing environmental consulting. Issa graduated with an Honors Bachelors of Laws (LLB), with a concentration in mining and the environment, from the University of Makeni (UNIMAK) in 2025. Issa became an active member of the Sierra Leone Institution of Geoscientists (SLIG) in 2016 and has since demonstrated commitment to professional development and engagement in the geoscience community.
